Priorities
Priorities
MY QUESTION for GOD
How can I focus on what is really important?
A MOMENT with GOD
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:6
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
Luke 12:34
As I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere.
Ecclesiastes 2:11
Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. . . . But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:40-42
Imagine that you’re in the middle of a very personal and significant conversation with a friend at the kitchen table. Or that you’re reading a Bible story to your young daughter just before tucking her into bed. Then the phone rings. What do you do? Most of us would answer the phone, or at least check the caller ID. Why? because interruptions tend to become top priorities. Our lives seem to skip from one urgent interruption to another. And all the while, we keep missing what is really important. What are the things that matter most in life, that are true priorities? How can we distinguish true priorities from lesser ones, like the ringing phone? The answer is this: Don’t confuse what’s urgent with what’s important. You must set your priorities first. Don’t let everyone else decide what your day should look like—that should be between you and God. If you make God your first priority, he will give you the proper perspective on the rest of the activities in your day. Ask God to show you what is worth being concerned about.
DIVINE PROMISE
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33
