Pain

Pain

MY QUESTION for GOD

How can I handle painful situations in my life?

A MOMENT with GOD

We believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)

Romans 8:23-25

God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.

Revelation 21:3-4

Trusting God does not produce a storybook life in which every problem is quickly resolved. Sometimes people get sick and don’t get better; relationships break down and can’t be restored; jobs are lost and not regained. You can rejoice, however, that you are assured of a happy ending. When Jesus returns, discomfort, disappointment, disease, pain, and death will disappear, and you will live with joy in God’s presence forever. Because this happy ending is utterly certain, you can endure the unanswered questions and unending crises of this life. Sometimes it’s hard to see God in the pain of the present. When you go through times like that, look forward to God’s promise of an eternally pain-free future. It will give you a powerful dose of hope to help you through the present.

DIVINE PROMISE

You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. Psalm 30:11-12
