Opportunities

Opportunities

MY QUESTION for GOD

How can I prepare for opportunities before they come?

A MOMENT with GOD

Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

Acts 8:30

Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

Ephesians 5:16

God regularly places divine moments right in front of you—opportunities to do good, to help someone in need, or to tell someone about God. Always be on the lookout for these opportunities to share your faith in word or deed. God will put them in front of you; you simply need to act on them.

Because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.

Philippians 1:14

When you see an opportunity to do good, jump at it. The more you sit back and think about it, the less likely you are to act. Even if you are experiencing personal hardship, helping others can be therapeutic.

Potiphar . . . made Joseph his personal attendant. He put him in charge of his entire household and everything he owned. . . . With Joseph there, he didn’t worry about a thing.

Genesis 39:4, 6

They replied, “We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean.” “Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied. “Go ahead and tell me your dreams.”

Genesis 40:8

Acting responsibly will open doors of opportunity. How you handle the responsibilities you’ve been given determines whether or not you will be trusted with more. Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers. He could have whined and complained, become bitter and given up. Instead, he seized every opportunity to do good and be helpful. As a result, he quickly became trusted for his integrity and eventually rose to great prominence in Egypt.

Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God.

Acts 11:19

See unexpected changes or difficulties as opportunities to serve God.

Where can we go? Our brothers have demoralized us with their report.

Deuteronomy 1:28

Don’t let fear or doubt cause you to miss opportunities that are from God. God often sends opportunities that require faith and courage so that you will learn to trust him.

DIVINE PROMISE

To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Matthew 25:29
