MY QUESTION for GOD

Could my troubles actually be a result of God disciplining me?

A MOMENT with GOD

My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline. . . . For the Lord corrects those he loves.

Proverbs 3:11-12

No one can tell [Jerusalem] anything; it refuses all correction. It does not trust in the Lord or draw near to its God.

Zephaniah 3:2

Like Jerusalem at the time of Zephaniah, you can stubbornly refuse to listen to God—or anyone else—and ignore the correction that could help you. When you get to that point, you are rebelling against God, and he may use adversity to get your attention and discipline you. Actually God’s discipline is a divine moment of intervention; without it, you could continue to stray until you no longer hear his voice. Stay open to God’s correction in your life, follow his directions for living found in the Bible, and listen carefully to the advice of godly people whom you respect. Be careful, however, not to immediately assume that your troubles (or the troubles someone else is experiencing) are the result of God’s discipline. If you have been sincerely trying to follow God, chances are that there is another reason for your adversity.
