MY QUESTION for GOD
How can I know when God is speaking to me?
A MOMENT with GOD
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
John 10:27
Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God.
John 8:47
The best way to be certain you are hearing God’s voice is to know God. If you don’t know God, how can you recognize his voice?
Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.
Mark 1:35
Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.
Psalm 46:10
Prayer is talking to God and building a relationship with him. Good conversation also includes listening, so you must allow God to speak to you. Only when you hear God can he make his wisdom and resources available to you. Sometimes you must spend time in his presence without feeling the need to verbalize your prayers. Just begin to think about God. Then listen and be ready to hear him speak to your heart and mind. As you meditate, you will learn to distinguish between your own thoughts and any ideas prompted by God.
The word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:12
Just as a piano is tuned using a standard tuning fork, so you can only get in tune with God by comparing yourself to the unchanging standards for living found in the Bible. As God communicates to you through his Word, you will begin to hear or discern just what he wants of you. As your spiritual hearing is fine-tuned, you will become a better listener, better able to hear God when he calls you to a certain task that he has reserved just for you. Would God say that you are a good listener?
Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him? But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16
When you become a Christian, the Holy Spirit helps you understand the mind of Christ. He gives you guidance, wisdom, and discernment that is not available to those who don’t know the Lord.
DIVINE PROMISE
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace. Philippians 4:6-7
