Quiet
Quiet
MY QUESTION for GOD
Why is it important to have quiet time?
A MOMENT with GOD
Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.
Psalm 46:10
Finding times to be quiet and meditate will help you recognize the voice of God when he speaks.
Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone.
Mark 6:31-32
Jesus saw the importance of rest and reflection. Life should have a balance of work and rest, of spending time with others and having quiet time for restoration.
Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15
Quiet time is crucial to renewing your relationship with God and being restored by spending time with him. Connecting with God taps into his strength. Maybe you find it difficult to rest. You mistakenly believe that productivity requires constant activity. But sometimes you need to slow down in order to speed up. You need to stop for a while to let your body, mind, and spirit recover and reset your course so that you can be more energized and more productive when you get back to the work at hand.
When you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
Matthew 6:6
You need quiet times to pray. Take a few moments to escape from the busy world so you can meditate on God.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. . . . Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. . . . Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.
Psalm 62:1, 5, 8
Quiet times are necessary for fighting temptation. The best time to prepare for temptation is before it hits you. Train yourself in your quiet times so that you will have the spiritual wisdom, strength, and commitment to honor God in the face of temptation.
Then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there.
Hosea 2:14
God pursues you by leading and guiding you—sometimes to secluded, quiet, out-of-your-way places.
