Guilt
Guilt
MY QUESTION for GOD
How can guilt be helpful?
A MOMENT with GOD
When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin.
Leviticus 5:5
Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt.
Psalm 19:12-13
Only acknowledge your guilt. Admit that you rebelled against the Lord your God.
Jeremiah 3:13
A guilty conscience is a warning signal God has given you to tell you when you’ve done something wrong. Guilt leads you to confess your sins, indicating your desire to make things right and be forgiven. If you have no desire to have your sins forgiven, God will not forgive them. God often uses the feeling of guilt to tell you when you need to apologize. Leaders must not lose this important sense of guilt; otherwise they may not know when they have hurt or offended someone they work with. It is frustrating when people have a leader who is no longer self-aware and does not realize how their words and actions hurt others. If you are feeling guilty about something you have said or done that may have hurt someone, then now is the time to apologize and seek forgiveness. Act quickly so you do not become too desensitized to appropriate feelings of guilt. Ask God to reveal those actions and thoughts that displease him, even those you aren’t aware of. When you confess where you were wrong, God removes your guilt, restores your joy, and heals broken relationships with those you have wronged.
DIVINE PROMISE
IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS TO HIM, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL WICKEDNESS.
1 John 1:9
