MY QUESTION for GOD

I’m an experienced leader, but I am no longer in a leadership position. I feel stuck on the shelf. What do I do?

A MOMENT with GOD

He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants—God’s own people, Israel. He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.

Psalm 78:71-72

Do your best wherever you are, and remember that God wastes nothing. Instead, God uses everything to further his good purposes. David’s first job was shepherding—hardly the recommended grooming for a future king! Yet the lessons David learned on the hills with the sheep served him well on the throne. He ruled not as a tyrant but as a shepherd. God will use you in whatever situation you find yourself, and God will use your circumstances to prepare you for future service. If it feels like God has put you on the shelf, then grow and serve there. God’s plan is still in action now, not just at some point in the future. Serving right where you are can be a divine moment of preparation for where God eventually wants to use you.
