Deeper Life #298

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

—Psalm 119:105

GOD’S PEOPLE GET OFF ON unreasonable lines when they begin to live by their own instincts, impressions, and vague ideas. That is when they will suffer from the “creepers.”

Do you know who the “creepers” are? People of reprobate minds who creep into the congregation of the saints to lead them astray (2 Timothy 3:1–7). There are a number of religious creepers nowadays. They will steal into your soul, just where you are wandering from the Word of God.

Has something been said to you recently from the Word of God that has awakened you with a startling sensation, and yet you have not obeyed God on that point? Then may God bring you face to face with a faithful Christian who will say the same thing to you until you get the victory. Otherwise a “creeper” may lead you further away from the truth.

When the Word of God has pierced your mind, your heart, and your spirit, it will begin its wonder-working way. It will heal and recreate you, and dissipate your stupidity.

Prayer Thought: Protect me, O God, from those who seek to “creep in” and lead my soul astray from You.
