Daily Power #201
Daily Power #201
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Cor. 9:8)
One day my son came into my office at home while I was trying to hang a framed picture someone had just given me. Rather than go to the garage to get a hammer, I had taken off my shoe and was trying to drive the nail with it. “Hey, buddy,” I said. “What’s up?”
“I just heard you pounding on the wall and thought you needed help,” he said.
I nodded and said, “Thanks, but I’m good. Just trying to hang this picture.” In the meantime, I dropped the nail because my running shoe was not providing enough force and resistance to drive it into the wall.
“Here, try this,” my son said, taking off his boot and handing it to me. I tried to use the heel of his boot, which was smaller and harder than my shoe, to drive in the nail. Still didn’t work. As I looked around my office for something else to use—stapler? bowling trophy? paperweight my daughter made me?—my wife walked in, smiled at us both, and without saying a word, handed me a hammer.
Needless to say, the right tool at the right time makes a huge difference. God sometimes wants us to be creative and improvise. But sometimes the right tool is there in front of us, just waiting for us to use it.
Today you’re equipped with the right tools to complete whatever God is building in your life.
