For Silencing Self-doubt

For Silencing Self-Doubt

NETFLIX’S DRAMA THE CROWN is one of my favorite shows. If you love period pieces and history, you should definitely watch it! The series chronicles the fascinating reign of Queen Elizabeth II. In one episode, it was revealed that the queen envied Jacqueline Kennedy’s grace and beauty. Yes, “Her Majesty the Queen”—with all her riches, titles, and power—envied another woman.

Having moments of envy doesn’t make you an awful person; it makes you human. With all the oversharing (and boasting) spewing out in this world, it’s easy to feel inadequate. But through prayer, God will silence your self-doubt and tell you who you are:

You are the daughter of the Most High King—far more precious than the finest stones. Your ashes have been transformed into beauty, and your uncertainties are nevermore. Your self-esteem is grounded in Jesus, and you are capable and wonderfully made. Your Father is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Oh, yes, that is who you are.

STRENGTH IN THE WORD

You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.

Song Of Solomon 4:7

TODAY I DECLARE

I am who God says I am.

PRAYERFUL THOUGHTS

Dear Lord,

I know that it’s not right, but I struggle with jealousy. I sometimes look at others and envy what they have. Yet I thank you for allowing me to be honest, and I ask that you remove the envy from my heart.

Set me free, O Lord. Silence the self-doubt that plays in my head, and give me a genuine love for who I am.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

KEEPSAKE
