Wisdom

We live in a world that equates knowledge with wisdom. A PhD from a prestigious school must mean you’re very wise. Not so fast there, professor. The Bible says that knowledge apart from wisdom simply puffs us up and makes us arrogant. The Bible says we are to pursue wisdom. It also promises that if we ask for wisdom, God will give it to us. When my six-year-old gets stung by a bee, I need the knowledge of what to do about it to relieve her pain. Baking soda and Benadryl are my friends. But wisdom is what we need as wives and mothers. Even as children of the King we desperately need wisdom. Don’t ever confuse knowledge with wisdom. A book or a website can give us knowledge, but a life devoted to understanding and pursuing God and seeking the fruit of the Spirit is the path of wisdom. Be wise, mom. The world needs God’s wisdom, and He has chosen you as a way to share that wisdom.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

Walk with the wise and become wise;

associate with fools and get in trouble.

WHEN YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MENTOR OTHER MOTHERS . . .

A wise woman builds her home,

but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.
