Beautiful Word Devotional #5
Beautiful Word Devotional #5
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
Luke 6:31
Such a simple statement, but so profound. Even people who don’t yet know Jesus know this golden rule. Why? Because it’s a great basic guideline for life. Furthermore, everyone longs to be loved this way. We thrive when others love us the way they care for themselves.
In our culture of hyper self-centeredness, this kind of love utterly stands out. When you choose to love people as you would love to be loved, the world takes notice. After all, this kind of love doesn’t involve platitudes or clichés. No, this kind of love takes action.
If you would love to be thanked, thank others. If you would like to be forgiven by someone, forgive those you need to forgive. If you would love a word of encouragement, encourage someone today.
In short, give what you would like to receive. Doing so will change not only your life, but also the lives of those whom you love with your actions.
Lord, show me someone today whom I could love in a way I would like to be loved, amen.
