Beautiful Word Devotional #46
“Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.’ ”
Luke 14:23
I think it’s a misnomer: we call it social media, but it’s a means of interacting that is anything but social.
Instead of hiding behind screens, we need to be interacting with real people face-to-face. And that can mean putting our phones down and going to actually be with a person. Yes, it is a countercultural yet loving act to go to people wherever they are. But that act reveals just how much people matter to God—and to you.
May it be that no matter where you find yourself today, you are living in light of Jesus’ command to love people where they live. This can simply be a kind interaction at the grocery store, or saying a short prayer for a friend who is struggling, or making a meal for a friend. You are obeying the second greatest commandment by loving others well.
Lord, guide me to those people who need a touch of your love, and use me, I pray, to provide that, amen.
