Our world maintains that there are many avenues to God. Among them are following the teachings of Buddha, doing good deeds, achieving the level of enlightenment, and adhering to certain ascetic religious practices. And the world is wrong. The absolutely only way to the one true God is knowing Jesus as Savior and Lord. Belief in Jesus is the only way we can approach the Father, enter into relationship with him, and live in his love.

We don’t have to try to impress God with our goodness or jump through religious hoops to please him. There’s nothing—nothing—we can do, no lifestyle plan we can follow, no specific discipline to practice to be able to approach God. Again, simply believe that Jesus Christ paid the price for your sin once and for all. Your salvation is a gift. Go ahead and rest in your Father’s embrace.

Lord, thank you that I don’t have to earn my salvation and that it is secure because of Jesus’ death on the cross for my sin, amen.
