A Spectacle Of Glory #50
A Spectacle of Glory #50
Read: Galatians 6:9
We’ve all endured those long stretches of highway that seem to go on and on. It’s hard to keep your mind awake and your eyes on a road that seems never ending. Obedience to the Lord can feel the same way. The horizon seems hazy and indistinct at times, and there’s little variation in the scenery. It might be a marriage with ceaseless struggles, a church that produces little results, or caregiving for an elderly parent or a child with a disability.
In today’s Scripture, Paul offers this strong counsel: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Oh, friend, if you are tired of obeying God and remaining faithful in a day-in-day-out routine, don’t allow your weariness to detour you. Draw deeply on His strength, and persevere in doing good. A harvest awaits if you don’t give up.
Dear Lord, maybe I need a reminder today that this long stretch really is going somewhere. It’s leading to a destination with every minute, every mile. The travel may be tiring at times, but it won’t go on forever. Sooner or later, I will arrive—at either a new place in life or a new life altogether in Your presence.
