Taking Time To Laugh
Taking Time to Laugh
Someone once said that laughter is the best medicine. That person knew intuitively what scientists have learned. Dr. Paul McGhee says, “Your sense of humor is one of the most powerful tools you have to make sure that your daily mood and your emotional state support good health. As a matter of fact laughter relaxes the whole body. It boosts the immune system; laughter triggers the release of endorphins and protects the heart.”a
More than being good for your health, laughter is one of the best ways to keep a relationship healthy. One of the things I love to do is laugh with my family. It brings joy to me to hear them laugh a deep belly laugh. Whether it’s about something that the dog does or something one of them says, we love to just laugh together.
I want to encourage you to develop a strategy for laughter. Take the family to a show, rent a comedy that the whole family can enjoy, or sit with your kids and watch AFV. Watching peoples’ mistakes on video with a good setup and music in the background is a sure way for us to laugh together.
Proverbs 15:30 states, “A cheerful look brings joy to the heart; good news makes for good health.”
Enjoy your day today, and never be so serious that you can’t laugh.
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart; good news makes for good health.
