Living Life Through The Rearview Mirror
Living Life through the Rearview Mirror
Have you ever been around someone who seems to be living life through the rearview mirror? This type of person seems to think that the only good times, the only best times, are the days gone by.
The great Tom Landry lived differently. He is known for the mind-set and attitude that declares today, and each day given to him, was a day full of opportunity. Landry said, “Today, you have 100 percent of your life left.” What a great perspective! Though we don’t understand all that we experience or why, we have a choice regarding how we will view our lives and the time God has given us.
Listen to the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 3:11: “God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
How do you view time? Each of us is given the same amount of time every day. What we do with our time, how we see time, and what we envision with the rest of our time will determine whether we live life looking at the rearview mirror or looking through the windshield. Knowing that you have 100 percent of your life left today, what will you do with it? What does your tomorrow look like? God is at work. Join him at making today, tomorrow, and the days to come something spectacular. He makes everything beautiful at just the right time!
God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
