Leadership Over The Long Haul
Leadership over the Long Haul
Since Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams died in 2011, the controlling interest of the team has changed hands at least twice. In that time, they have had three coaching changes and one of the worst records in football. After receiving a first-round pick in the NFL draft in 2015 and selecting Marcus Mariota, the Titans were first in line for the draft with just a few weeks left in the 2015 season.
With instability in ownership comes instability in the front office, as the general manager and coaching changes have left the fans in Nashville longing for direction. Organizations that don’t establish leadership and retain that leadership over the long haul tend to cycle through losing seasons over and over again. Finding, retaining, and empowering a leader to set a course and stay with it is vital to winning in every area of life.
In what areas do you need to ensure leadership over the long haul? How might things look if there was stable leadership in place? Proverbs 28:2 states, “When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily. But wise and knowledgeable leaders bring stability.” Remember, with solid leadership comes stability. Without it, the losses will keep piling up.
When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily. But wise and knowledgeable leaders bring stability.
