Hunters know that if they are going to get a good harvest during the various hunting seasons, they have to get out early. One of my buddies, who is a learned hunter, tells me that it is in the first and last thirty minutes of daylight when you will have the most opportunities. Getting out early before the sun is up is key.

One of the ways that hunters check to see if game is coming through to the feeders is by checking game trails and looking for tracks around the feeders. How often deer or hogs come to a certain spot can now be ascertained by hanging cameras in nearby trees. When motion is detected, the cameras capture the activity. Knowing how often deer or hogs come through to a particular feeding location over and against another will yield the greatest results.

Getting up early and often to read the Bible and pray also yields the best results. In his book The Circle Maker, Mark Batterson states, “Ultimately, the transcript of your prayers becomes the script of your life.”^a I can say that every bit of A Minute of Vision for Men was born in prayer, when I would get up early and go to the Lord often.

Jesus led with the early-and-often prayer strategy. Mark 1:35 states, “Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.” If you get up early and go often, you, too, will see the amazing harvest, season after season.
