Baby Jesus In A Car Seat
Baby Jesus in a Car Seat
Watching young children celebrate Christmas is so much fun. Decorating with them can often be laborious, but seeing their reactions to the Christmas tree or the manger scene is worth the extra work. One pastor tells a story of a child helping his mommy and daddy unwrap the manger scene and put it in its prominent place in their home.
“Here’s a sheep,” he said with joy, as he pulled it out of the box. “And here’s a cow,” he continued. As he came to the shape of the baby in the manger, he thought it looked like his little brother when they would load the car and head out. The little boy exclaimed with great zeal, “And here’s baby Jesus in his car seat!”
Like this little child, we may not fully understand all the details of God, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take delight in what we do know. Remember, the story of Christmas is the story of God with us. Isaiah 7:14 states, “The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”
Like this little boy who didn’t understand it all but was eager to participate, all you need to truly partake in Christmas is childlike faith to delight in the gift of God’s Son, Jesus. He has been the promised one from the very beginning.
She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means “God is with us”).
Isaiah 7:14
