worthiness - How am I worthy to be a follower of God?

There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

Romans 8:1-3

MOST OF US STRUGGLE to see ourselves with twenty-twenty vision. Either we fail to see our faults, or we fail to see our value. God loves us for who we are, not for what we do. God loved us before we made our first mistakes, before we uttered our first words, and even before we took our first breaths. His love for us is an eternal thread woven throughout our lives and fortified through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It’s easy to get so caught up in the experience of serving God that we lose sight of the greatest privilege of all—knowing God and being known by him. Our names are registered as citizens of heaven, which means we belong, without question, to the eternal Kingdom of God. Nothing we do on earth can compare with that privilege or joy. Don’t get caught in the trap of basing your identity or self-worth on your performance. Rejoice that God’s unconditional love makes you worthy.
