Trusting God

trusting God - I know I can trust God for my eternal future, but why is it so hard for me to trust him with today and tomorrow?

The LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.

Nahum 1:7

Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock.

Isaiah 26:4

Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.

Psalm 37:5

O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you.

Psalm 84:12

JESUS TELLS HIS FOLLOWERS not to be anxious, yet so many of us spend our lives fretting over circumstances we cannot control. Trusting God begins when we choose to believe he is loving and good, and that he only wants good things for us. When we dwell on problems, give in to worry, or try to control the future, we are choosing not to trust that God is looking out for our best interests. Trusting God is not only a moment-by-moment decision but also a lifelong discipline. Whenever you notice anxious thoughts starting to form about tomorrow, stop and tell God your worries and fears. Fill your thoughts with his Word and choose to believe that he has everything under control. He promises great things, both for right now and for your eternal future.
