Success

success - Is it okay to try to be successful in this life?

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Colossians 3:23

When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

Luke 12:48

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.

1 Timothy 6:17-18

SOMETIMES GOD ALLOWS his people to enjoy material blessings, but his standard for success differs greatly from our own. He measures success not by prestige, possessions, or power, but by our motives, devotion, and commitment to him. What motivates you as you strive for success? Do you want to build your own kingdom on earth or invest in God’s Kingdom? Remember that much is expected of those to whom God has entrusted material wealth and success. So whatever you do, work hard, handle every relationship with integrity, stay committed to God’s purposes for you, be generous, and work to bring him glory. That’s godly success.
