Speechlessness
speechlessness - What can I do when I feel like I don’t have any words to pray?
The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
Romans 8:26-27
Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
Matthew 6:9-13
DO YOU EVER find it difficult to find the words to pray? Whenever we feel speechless before God, we can open his Word to find fresh language for prayer. When we don’t even know how to begin talking to God, we can start with the Lord’s Prayer. As we read it out loud, we can speak directly to God. This can be done with many passages throughout the Bible. As you pray the honest, heartfelt prayers of people from thousands of years ago, notice how the words relate to your own circumstances. Whether you are in a time of great joy or are experiencing deep despair, God’s Word has something to say about every season of life. Trust God to listen to any prayer you offer with a sincere heart.
