pleasure - Does it please God when we enjoy the things he’s given us?

I decided there is nothing better than to enjoy food and drink and to find satisfaction in work. Then I realized that these pleasures are from the hand of God.

Ecclesiastes 2:24

Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks. For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer.

1 Timothy 4:4-5

Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord.”

Nehemiah 8:10

You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.

Psalm 4:7

GOODNESS is part of God’s character, and therefore he is pleased when we celebrate special occasions or enjoy food, friends, and beauty. Just as a mother experiences joy while watching her child delight in a gift, so God delights when his people enjoy the good things he has given them. What gifts has God given you today? How can you remember to thank him for them? Accept and appreciate God’s gifts and live life as God intended you to enjoy it—to the fullest!
