Perseverance

perseverance - How can I persevere through difficult seasons in a way that pleases God?

We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.

2 Corinthians 1:8-9

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

2 Thessalonians 3:5

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy.

Colossians 1:11

PERSEVERANCE means enduring with courage, even when the end is not in sight. We persevere in the midst of our trials by continuing to be faithful and do what is right, whether or not we can see good results right now. Problems have a way of testing our faith—they either strengthen us or break us down. It all depends on our attitude. When we persevere with God’s help, we come out on the other side with a stronger faith, experiencing the benefits of obedience and growing in confidence that will help us deal with future problems. Be encouraged that God is able not only to help you endure but to help you persevere joyfully!
