Opportunity
opportunity - When an opportunity arises, how do I know if God wants me to walk through that open door?
Never stop praying.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:105
Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.
Proverbs 11:14
We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.
John 9:4
OPPORTUNITIES seized or missed often become defining moments in our lives. God gives us many chances to participate in his purpose; therefore we must be prepared to recognize when God opens a door for us, and then walk through it with boldness. But how do we know if an open door is from God? First, we know that any opportunity that contradicts God’s Word or violates its principles is not from the Lord. The Bible may not directly address a particular opportunity, but it gives clear guidelines about what God desires for our lives and what he warns us to avoid. Second, we must pray that God will lead us. And third, we can seek wise advice from godly people in our lives. Keep your eyes open for what God will bring your way. And when you believe that God is presenting you with an opportunity, respond quickly and work hard to carry out the task he has put before you.
Prayer Prompts
Lord, I wonder if you have opened this door: . . .
Before I decide to walk through it, your Word tells me to . . .
