Knowing God
knowing God - How does knowing more about God deepen my relationship with him?
May you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Ephesians 3:18-19
This is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
John 17:3
You must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 3:18
WHEN WE make the effort to learn about others, we begin to understand them better. It is the same with God. We cannot expect to go deeper with God without learning more about who he is. Thankfully, God has given us his Word to help us know him. From cover to cover, the Bible describes God’s character and attributes, the things he cares about, and how he interacts with his creation. And one thing is clear—God cares deeply about relationship. He is not an elusive being; he is a God who desires to be known. As you read God’s Word, ask yourself, What does this teach me about who God is? As you get to know God better, you will find yourself noticing him more and more, praising him for who he is, and trusting him at all times.
