inexperience - How can God use my limited experience?

Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” Then the LORD asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”

Exodus 4:10-12

[God] chose his servant David, calling him from the sheep pens. He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants—God’s own people, Israel. He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.

Psalm 78:70-72

[Jesus said,] “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”

GOD USES EVERYTHING—even our inexperience—to further his purposes. David’s years of shepherding groomed him to become a future monarch. The lessons he learned on the hills with the sheep taught him to rule not as a tyrant but as a shepherd. When you feel discouraged because you’re being asked to do something you feel unequipped for, remember that God has good plans for you. His plan is unfolding right now. So do the best you can wherever you are. Instead of questioning God’s decision to use you, step out in faith and trust that he is able to carry out his plans through you.
