Happiness
happiness - How can I live a happier life?
Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.
Psalm 119:35
Do what is right and good in the LORD’s sight, so all will go well with you.
Deuteronomy 6:18
For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.
Proverbs 15:15
The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing.
Proverbs 10:28
MANY OF US strive to make happiness our primary goal. We are tempted to believe that if we can just have the right spouse, the perfect job, a beautiful appearance, or a nicer house, then we will finally be happy. In reality, the surest way to be unhappy is to think the next great thing will make you content. With that perspective, happiness is always just out of reach. But God’s Word promises some specific, achievable things we can do to be truly happy. A few key actions are to follow Jesus; do everything to honor God, not ourselves; place our hope in God’s promises rather than in those the world tries to give us; and delight in reading God’s Word. If you can do these things, then God promises you will be genuinely happy because you will know without a doubt who you are and where you are headed for eternity.
