WHEN WE are tired, overworked, overwhelmed, or disconnected from God and others, it is wise to put off making big decisions until we are in a healthier place. If you are on the verge of making a decision, it may also be wise to ask yourself, Did I talk to God about this and open his Word for wisdom? Did I ask for advice from godly advisers? Is my heart open to other options? Have I considered whether or not the timing is good for this decision? If you have answered yes to these questions, then you have wisely prepared yourself. Sometimes you can do all the right things and your decision still doesn’t turn out the way you had hoped. However, you can have peace of mind, knowing that you did not make that decision foolishly. Use wisdom in making your decisions, and trust God with the outcome.
