Flexibility

flexibility - How does being flexible make me available for divine moments with God?

We’ve given up everything to follow you.

Matthew 19:27

If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.

Mark 8:34-35

As soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

Luke 5:11

One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him.

Mark 1:16-18

INFLEXIBILITY can make our hearts rigid and overly focused on our own plans and agendas. This kind of tunnel vision keeps us unaware of God’s presence. But often he blesses us not because of our ability but because of our availability. How would our lives be different if we walked through each day ready to hear God’s voice and were open to his leading? God loves to surprise us with divine moments with him as he guides us through life. Ask God to help you go with the flow, be open to his timing, and allow room in your life for a change of plans.
