Disappointment

disappointment - How can I handle life’s disappointments?

Always continue to fear the LORD. You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed.

Proverbs 23:17-18

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”

Isaiah 55:8

This hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Romans 5:5

GOD SEES the disappointments that linger in our hearts—the small letdowns as well as the large regrets that haunt us. Expecting life to go a certain way sets us up for disappointment. What would life be like if we let go of our expectations and instead were open to God’s will for us? When we are in seasons of setback and regret, we can place our hope in God and his plans for us. We can always have hope because God loves to surprise his children with his goodness—especially during times of disappointment. Be open when God leads you to unexpected places. His ways may not always be yours, but you can trust in his promise that his way is always better. He is able to use any setback, regret, or failure for your ultimate good.
