Desirability
desirability - How can I know God really desires a close relationship with me?
My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”
Psalm 27:8
His unfailing love for us is powerful; the LORD’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the LORD!
Psalm 117:2
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children.
1 John 3:1
When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the LORD God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the LORD God among the trees. Then the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”
Genesis 3:8-9
WE DON’T NEED to do anything to make God want a close relationship with us. He knows everything about us, even our deepest secrets, and yet his love for us has never changed. When we doubt if God wants to spend time with us, we can take a look at his Word. It is a beautiful story about God pursuing his people, beginning with the very first humans on earth. Just as God enjoyed walking in the Garden with Adam and Eve in the cool evenings, he longs to walk with you, too. He is continually whispering to your heart, “Come talk with me.” Do you hear him? Relax with God and remember that because he is your heavenly Father, you don’t need to try so hard. He is proud of you, his daughter, and he delights in you just the way you are.
