Conversation

conversation - How can I live in conversation with God?

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Psalm 16:11

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

Colossians 4:2

Never stop praying.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.

James 5:13

GOD IS BY OUR SIDE, just as a friend can be. Yet how often are we aware of his company? We can practice his presence by inviting him into all our moments, even the mundane and messy. This can be as simple as transforming our “self-talk” into continual conversation with him. If we have a person on our mind, we can ask God how to pray for him or her. If we are worried about something, we can tell God our fears. Intimate conversation can happen even during dishwashing, driving, or yard work. Over time this will become more natural. As you invite God into your thoughts, you also become more aware of his presence and his voice. Prayer doesn’t take time away from your life; it is your lifeline to God! Weave small prayers throughout your day and learn the joy of living in God’s company.
