Conscience
conscience - How does my conscience work?
Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.
1 Timothy 1:19
They knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.
Romans 1:21

Proverbs 2:1, 9
OUR CONSCIENCE is the innate part of our soul that helps us discern whether or not we are in line with God’s will. It is God’s gift for keeping us sensitive to his moral code. If we don’t listen to and obey our conscience, we will become less sensitive to its promptings. It will function effectively only when we stay close to God, spend time in his Word, and make an effort to understand ourselves and our own tendencies toward sin. If you find yourself unmoved by evil, it may be an indication that your soul is desperately in need of time with the Lord. Ask God to sharpen your conscience as you seek him and read his Word.
