Circumstances

circumstances - How can I experience God in the midst of troubling circumstances?

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

Habakkuk 3:17-18

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.

Psalm 112:6-8

ONE WAY to rise above life’s difficult circumstances is to give God thanks. Even if we can’t find anything to be thankful for in our present situation, we can thank him for his constant presence and comfort. Whether we are currently living in sunshine or storms, God never changes, and neither does his love for us. God is always eager to come alongside us to teach us something from both the good and the bad of our circumstances. So refuse to worry today. Turn every concern into confident prayer. Come to God with your needs and with thanksgiving for what he has done for you, and trust that he will bring good fruit out of the difficult times.
