Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. . . . Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

BECAUSE we are all sinful people, arguments are bound to happen. Sometimes disagreements lead to greater understanding, intimacy, and depth of relationship. Other times they result in angry words, lingering bitterness, and broken relationships. Therefore, the way we choose to resolve an argument is extremely important. If you have a challenging relationship in your life right now, take time to reflect on God’s promises to bless those who work for peace. It is never easy to be the person who takes the high road, but God tells you that when you do, you will experience his love, peace, and goodness in your life.
