Advice
advice - Why is it so important to seek wise advice from others?
The instruction of the wise is like a life-giving fountain; those who accept it avoid the snares of death.
Proverbs 13:14
Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook.
Proverbs 18:4
Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others.
Proverbs 12:15
True wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understanding are his.
Job 12:13
GOD CAN USE a conversation with a godly friend or even the advice of a trained counselor to bring about turning points in our lives. He often allows others’ words to reach us at the moment when we are most ready to receive them. No one is wise enough to anticipate all the possibilities of a situation or to grasp all the issues related to a problem. Resisting advice is a sign of being unteachable and prideful. And often the one area where we refuse advice is the exact area where we most need it. Ask God to help you let go of your pride so that you can be open to receiving godly counsel. Remember that God uses a variety of ways to speak to us, and his words may often come from the mouth of a trusted friend.
