A Prayer Of Stewardship

A prayer of Stewardship

When I need to be a better steward of what I have

O Father,

Thank you for all that you have entrusted into my care. You have given me responsibility for people and for things, and I want to be a good steward. If I made a list of my stewardship responsibilities, it would get quite long: my financial resources and material possessions; my talents and time; the people under my care such as my family, Sunday school class, or the care group I lead. I ask you, O God, how I can better manage these assets you have given me. Help me to see that the goal of stewardship is to make the best possible use of what you have entrusted to me in order to make the greatest possible impact on others. I want your work to move forward as effectively as possible. Please show me today where I need to be a better steward.

The master was full of praise. “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!” Matthew 25:21
