Wisdom comes from abiding by God’s perfect commands

Heavenly Father,

The Bible tells me that obedience to your commands brings wisdom. In other words, the right thing to do is the smart thing to do. Your commandments are not burdensome obligations but pathways to a joyful, meaningful, and satisfying life. Your call to obedience comes from your own commitment to my well-being. Since you are the creator of life, you know the best way to live. God, please point out those areas in my life where I am not living your best for me. Let me see where I have settled for something good instead of seeking your perfect plan. Show me where I have fallen short of the abundant life you have intended for me, and challenge me to restore my life to obedience in these areas. Make me willing to accept your commandments and trust in your ways. Plant a love for your commands in my heart so I may be wise and obedient to you.
