A Prayer In Crisis
A prayer in Crisis
Where is God in times of crisis?
Lord God,
I don’t need to pray that you will be with me in this time of crisis, because you are already here. Instead I ask, Lord, that I will recognize your presence and have the humility to accept your help. You do not promise to prevent times of crisis in my life; this is a fallen world where terrible things happen. But you do promise to be here with me and for me—always—helping me through any crisis I face. You promise to guide me toward peace and hope in the midst of my crisis. You also promise to bring me to heaven, where all trouble will end forever. Help me to cling to your promises as I trust in your presence to carry me through each crisis I face.
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? . . . No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:35, 37
