A prayer for Victory

When I want to live a more victorious Christian life

O God almighty,

How I thank you that my greatest victory was won when I received salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Because he conquered death, I will too. Glory to you, God! But even after that victory I still need your help, Lord, for the daily battles over the strongholds of sin that threaten my ability to effectively live the Christian life. I need daily victories over sin, for it still seeks to destroy my witness and my purpose. Don’t allow sin to harass me, but help me overcome its daily attacks. I want to live a victorious life. So step by step, victory by victory, help me battle relentlessly against sin and remove it from my heart piece by piece. Because I trust you and you live in me, I praise you that you have equipped me with everything I need to accomplish this.
