A Prayer For Reconciliation

A prayer for Reconciliation

Why is reconciliation so important to God?

Dear Jesus,

Reconciliation is the heart of what it means to follow you. You suffered the agony of the cross to redeem sinful human beings and reconcile us to God. My reconciliation with you is a picture of how I am to be reconciled with others. Your Word tells me that harmony in human relationships is important to you—so important that you command me to first come clean with the people in my life with whom I have conflict, and then to worship. In other words, to live with an unresolved conflict actually hinders my relationship with you. Jesus, is there anyone in my life with whom you want me to pursue reconciliation? I pray that you would show me how to restore that relationship so I can be at peace with you.

If you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. Matthew 5:23-24
