A prayer for Affirmation

When I need love and attention

Dear God in heaven,

Please show me that you are also here on earth with me. I could use a little affirmation right now. No one seems to be paying much attention to me, and it feels like my hard work goes unnoticed. I want to know that my life is valued by others. But maybe there is a divine reason for this aloneness I feel. Could it be that you are reminding me that you are the best source of affirmation? You, the almighty God, chose to create me in your image and long to be in relationship with me. You sent your own Son to die for my sins so that I could have the opportunity to live with you forever. That’s love and attention! Thank you that your words in the Bible and your actions toward me affirm that you desire my very heart and soul. I’m so grateful that I matter to you. Help me to notice all the little ways you break into my day with a blessing here and an encouragement there. As I learn to see with spiritual eyes the daily evidence of your love for me, the more confident and affirmed I will feel. I thank you and praise you that you truly care for me.
