A Prayer About Worship

A prayer about Worship

When my worship feels disconnected from God

Heavenly Father,

I’m sorry that my worship over the years has not always been glorifying to you. I used to think that worship was confined to formal times and places. But now I realize that you want me to worship you according to your true person and nature, in truth and with my whole spirit. I can do that anytime and anywhere! How meaningful it is that my whole life can be an act of worship. Now, as I think about how each part of my day can glorify you, I am amazed at how often I feel connected with you. On Sunday mornings when I worship with other believers, the words I sing have new depth of meaning because I have experienced your presence throughout the week. Father, thank you that you alone are worthy of praise. Don’t let me wander from this important truth, but continue to teach me how each moment of my life can be an act of worship.

Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, for your love for me is very great. Psalm 86:11-13
