A Prayer About Value
A prayer about Value
When I feel like I can’t do anything right
Dear God,
I’m down on myself right now. I put on a good front, but I don’t feel very competent in my work, my relationships, as a spouse, or as a parent. It seems as if someone is always disappointed in me. And when I do accomplish something, I see ten other people who can do it better and I say, “Why bother?” I know I’m focusing too much on myself again, Lord. This is why I come to you in prayer. I need to remember that I am priceless to you because you love me. The God of the universe loves me! That makes me a person of great value indeed. Please keep me from measuring myself by the wrong standards. How I compare to others isn’t important. The only thing that matters—and the only way to avoid my insecurities—is to find my value as a creation of almighty God. When I reflect on how much you love me, I find the courage to be myself, and I realize I might be more valuable than I give myself credit for.
We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
