A prayer about the Holy Spirit

When I need confirmation of the Holy Spirit’s power

O Holy Spirit,

You are God, living in perfect union with the Father and the Son. What a glorious mystery this is. You live in the heart of everyone who calls upon the name of Jesus. When I give you control of my life, you release your power within me—power to resist temptation, to serve and love you and others, to endure when I am at the end of my rope, to have wisdom in all circumstances, and to persevere in godly living here on earth with the promise of eternal life in heaven. Thank you for providing the energy, the wisdom, and the resources I need to do whatever you ask me to do.

Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. Galatians 5:16-17
