A prayer about the Holy Spirit

When I don’t know what to pray for

God,

Sometimes I don’t know how to express my heart to you. My soul longs to be recognized and understood, yet I can’t find the right words. Still, I know that your Holy Spirit understands my deepest longings and expresses them to you on my behalf. I find comfort in knowing that you hear my prayers, and I am confident that you will respond.

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words . . . [and] pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. Romans 8:26-27
